Troubadour "Old School" Edition- Featuring JC Pigeon

A favourite of Montreal Improv, Troubadour returns!

A musical guest will begin the evening by performing a selection of original songs. A group of Montreal’s best improvisers will then use the musician’s lyrics and banter as inspiration for their scenes.

This month's Troubadour comes all the way from southern Ontario: Singer songwriter JC Pigeon.

Jean Claude Pigeon grew up in Blind River Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Huron. After highschool he moved to Montreal where he formed the pop bluegrass ensemble, The Rocky Mountain Ramblers. His music is featured in the acclaimed Jeffrey St Jules short films The Sadness of Johnson Joe Jangles (2004) and Bang Bang Baby (2014). In 2021 his song “The Tundra Wind” was named the winner of the DMSSC music contest. In 2009 Jean Claude released his first album, Falling Stars, in collaboration with the Juno award winning producer Paul Johnson.

A former tree planter and sometimes Arctic helicopter dispatcher, Jean Claude currently resides in Peterborough Ontario with his wife and two kids. Jean Claude is currently busy writing songs about how much he misses Montreal and Blind River.
