The original boys of summer, Walter Lyng and Troy Stark, are set to wrap up the season with a double album recording over the course of two shows at Montreal Improv on Saturday, September 21.
Two of the minds behind The World’s Smallest Comedy Night, these journeymen comedians are each going to deliver an hour of raw and amazing material, to be professionally recorded so that it may live through the ages.
Walter and Troy have in the recent past both been featured on Just For Laughs live albums, which can currently be heard on satellite radio and elsewhere.
Potentially separated at birth, Troy and Walter are alike but different in their own ways. Originally hailing from the Maritimes, Troy has worked and performed in most major markets across the Country and previously released the album King of Clubs to critical acclaim. Weaving tales of divorce, destruction and destitution into a fine tapestry of dysfunction, this self-described “king of trash” will warm your heart with a calculated coldness.
Walter, meanwhile, is a celebrated local Montreal lunatic, known for his OFF JFL RAD DADS shows as well as his Fringe franchise KNIFE FIGHT, for which he won a completely legitimate lifetime achievement award, presented to him by festival director Amy Blackmore. Blending absurdity, rants and dank dad jokes into a cacophonous concoction, Walter will take you to a dangerous place normally only accessible within the turbulent recesses of his mind.
Please arrive early and be prepared to laugh!

It was chosen as one of the city’s favorite comedy venues by readers of Cult MTL on multiple occasions and hosted festivals such as Mprov, Montreal Fringe and the world-famous Just For Laughs’ OFF-JFL.
Now under new leadership, the new Montreal Improv is once again a hub for working comedians, aspiring performers and some of the very best comedic talent in the country.
